5 HOUR YUKON TOUR WITH ONE ATTRACTION: DOG MUSHING OR YUKON SUSPENSION BRIDGE

From USD $750.00
  • Duration: 5 Hours (approx.)
  • Product code: 5HRYUKONMUSHORBRIDGE

This tour is a little less driving and more time out of the van to enjoy a fabulous location and fantastic activity. You will travel up the Klondike Highway to the historic White Pass summit, driving through a moonscape of sub alpine terrain and to the Yukon Territory. Driving through Boreal forests and alongside massive glacial lakes with majestic mountains in every direction you will feel the land speak to you. Five hours will allow you to travel 100 miles round trip plus allow for one stop at your choice of attraction; Musher Michelle Phillips' Tagish Lake Kennel and her Tutshi summer dog mushing training camp. Pet puppies and her many zen like sled dogs. Watch the dogs surge to life the moment it's time to run! Enjoy a cart ride and mushing talk or just spend your time in the dog area loving on canine athletes.
Or you can choose to stop at the Yukon Suspension Bridge and it's magnificent scenery and spectacular views as you walk over the fierce Tutshi River, a class 5 rapids. Enjoy some bison chili and some snacks in their cafe, shop at the gift shop, check out their trapper's cabin and enjoy some great historical photos and signage as you explore the sights.

There are great opportunities for wildlife encounters driving this far into the interior.  Leaving early in the morning provides better opportunities to get out ahead of the numerous big buses and other larger tour vehicles so we can travel ahead of the pack.  It also increases the opportunities to see wildlife as we would get there before the big guys scare them away.

BOOKING TIP:  Just a few miles north of Carcross are two Yukon wonders:  the world's smallest desert and the spectacular Emerald Lake.  It would be a shame to miss out on these attractions and an additional hour would be needed to see these sights. The 6 Hour Emerald Lake tour would be the better choice. The 6 Hour Emerald Lake option would allow for time to grab a quick bite at a local eatery, and a shorter stop at a local attraction depending on how we choose to manage our time. We like to try and be flexible and cater to guest's interests as much as possible in the time we have together.

IF you wanted to to do the Yukon BC border and BOTH stops you would need 6 hours. That is absolutely possible! See our 6 Hour Yukon Mushing and Suspension bridge combo tour!

*Admission to attractions/activities/food are not included in tour price. I believe everyone we visit should be paid directly so everyone gets what they need to survive in the northern winters. Many companies will include these costs in their pricing and get a commission from the attractions they visit. I believe in supporting the attractions I believe in 100% by having my clients pay onsite. I receive no commissions or kick backs from them. I look at this as a more authentic and honorable way to do business in a very greedy world. This way you can feel confident that Skagway Private Tours is providing the tour that YOU are interested in experiencing; not the one that brings a little extra cash to the bottom line. This also allows for flexibility to drop in based on group interests, weather conditions, and overall mood for the day.
Disclaimer: Ok since we are on the truth train this policy also means no added paperwork! A one woman show doesn't need extra paperwork which allows the owner to kayak, hike and love on her husky Jedi instead of being stuck at her computer! She would rather go out and enjoy the land she shows you instead of just talking about it every day to clients: WIN WIN!
